hi everyone. names paul. im 27 from south shields in the uk. postman by trade but a car fanatic/builder/modifier in nearly every other second of my time. but also love projects which brings me here! now as a youngster i used to own bmx, actually built my own with a mixture of diamondback and mongoose parts from memory but my first full bmx was a raleigh burner. anyway years later and monday gone, on my post delivery im walking up a garden path and see a pile of bikes lying to one side looking rather sorry for themselves. i immediately spotted something! the telltale gusset with two holes! raleigh burner!!!!! so i drop my mail and drag it from underneath the pile of mountain bikes to get a better look. raleigh super burner!!! looking sorry for itself but what looks like a full bike. mag wheels, mx brakes, aeroyal seat etc. i put it back and went to the house to see if anyone was in who i could talk too. only the cleaner was there so i left my mobile and asked her if she could get the home owner to call me later. got to about 7-8pm and the phone rang. the lady on the phone thought i was her normal postman "im covering him as hes on the sick" i explained i wasnt but was his mate and was interested in rebuilding and restoring the bike. so she gave me it!!!!! i couldnt believe it. i mean she knew the value of the bike as she turfed a scrap man who said he was gonna make some money off it!

so yeah sorry for the essay but im now the proud owner of a raleigh super burner which will be getting restored over the coming weeks/months. me being like a magpie "attracted to shiny stuff" has brought me to this little beauty and hopefully i can take this little mx back to its former glory!!!!
