Hi all, thought I'd better be polite and introduce myself before jumping in... Currently living in Ireland, but originally from Hessle near Hull in the UK. Started off in BMX back in 1979/80 with an old BMX Magnum, then progressed onto a factory test team ride for Kingston Leisure Products which produced cheap catalogue BMX's firstly then some really nice pro frames which I tested. You may remember Steve Gratton, he was sponsored by them, I ended up with his old F&F set amongst many others!!! Didn't really race that much due to not having any tracks nearby, but was heavily into freestyle & ramps etc. Gave plenty of shows & demos. Currently have a 2001 Redline Proline Expert which I am restoring to original. So thats it, hi again...

Never raced there but did ride around when parents went on visits, used to take my bike everywhere with me! Rode a lot in Beverley Westwood. Went over the Humber bridge a lot to ride over N Lincs regularly. Rode in Derby too.

actually I do remember riding in Stamford Bridge near York alright. I vaguely remember meeting up with some guys there and riding a track near a river and woods??? It was the year & month when BMXA had a sidecar race on the front cover, bought it in a little PO in the village as I recall! I remember thinking that that could be no fun at all, too heavy to race round our flat UK tracks!!!! Spike.

Hi Guys, Just found this site today. I lived in York and Raced at Team Yorkies in Murton which was the only BMX track in the York Area. The "Track" at Tang Hall (2 miles from where I lived in Huntington) was a poor effort from the council to provide us with a BMX track. It was never raced on and vertually never riden by anyone, even the tang hall locals (no one had BMX bikes anymore by the time the track was built!!) It was created near the end of the first BMX era with no consultation from anyone in the know. No start Gate, just a lump and was hard to peddle between the other "jumps" coz it was grassy and bumpy. Hope this helps!?
