Hi all, I'm mayco, I've been browsing bmx sites from around the world over the last couple of years alongside building a couple of retro Kona MTBs, one of which is now in bits and up for sale to fund my first bmx project. I have some great memories of my bmx's as a kid, neighborhood races at the local track in the forest built by the local kids, they were great days!
I'm currently researching which bmx i'd like to build. Top of the wish list is a Robinson closely followed by GT , although my shallow pockets will probably dictate my choice. One thing for certain it has to be a 24, any tips on finding such frames outside the US appreciated.
Some truly inspiring builds here, you people are great at what you do, happy to join such a talented crowd! Wish me luck!
Bikes i had as a kid: Raleigh Comanche Grifter Piranha 83ish Redline MK II Lovely Chrome 'Pro star' (doubt it was a hutch but had a star cut out up front) Does anybody know what this could have been?

Hello mate, a 24" Gt, im assuming you want it to be a 82-84 ? I would use the BMXMUSEUM to find a decent 24" then talk to the guy about putting a low price on the value before he sends it, this usually sorts out customs charges, but not all the time.

A 90's GT DK cruiser went on ebay early this morning for £43.97. I couldn't research the serial number quick enough to be sure of its authenticity. (24 08932613) I got the 24", August, 1993 and the 2613rd bit, but at the time expected to see some letters referring to the factory and where it was built before these numbers. Since seen some serial numbers online which are the same as this... lesson learnt!
I'll try mailing some people on BMX museum and see where that gets me, thanks for the tip.
