Hello all. My names Giles. Live in Rushden, Northants and into old school BMX (had a Kuwahara Kz1 when i was 12) Aircooled VWs and old school skateboards. great site. looking forward to getting some advice and parts for my 83 Kuwahara Laserlite build. Cheers  |

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, wanted a laser lite since i was 10! the wife thinks i've lost what little brains i had though! ;D Can post a pic of the sum total of parts i have at the moment which is Frame, Forks, Bars, Seatpost clamp and stem! Got a long way to go and alot of money to spend before its finished i think! Thanks again |

You have Bud, but if you get it right, you have one of the sweetest looking OS race bikes imho, i started one ages ago, but to get it spot on is big £££. Good luck with it Giles |

Yep. Its gotta be Factory Spec. I want to be able to use it occasionaly though so whilst its got to be right i wont necessarily be buying NOS parts which will hopefully keep costs down - a bit!

hi mate, one of your neighbours in rushden should be able to sort you out with all your bits.... Yeah..hopefully! Keep it local an all that! Emailed a list of parts a couple of weeks ago so will wait and see what happens. In the meantime i'm just searching on ebay which to be honest i find a right pain! |

I guess i could do it loads cheaper if it wernt factory spec but seeing as this is the bike I've lusted over since I was 10, i dont really want to compromise on the quality of stuff that i put on it if that makes sense. I dont blame you, the only advice i can offer you is take your time bud, everything comes available one time or another, and because your happy with buying used, you will get some bargains, just make sure you have £350/400 for the 400s |

It's not just the 400's though it it, good luck getting the seat and grips.
400's are available if you have the dough, what i mentioned above will take a lot longer to get.

Seem to be a couple of 400s about at the mo on ebay. I've actually got a NOS elina aero turbo seat for not much cash (relatively speaking) Not got grips yet though! The laser post seat post is proving to be the most tricky at the moment but i'm sure one will turn up. |
